Abstract

Among the activities lined up for AUPSC during the month of November 2024 include: an Open Session on Youth, Peace and Security in Africa; 16th Retreat of the PSC on the Review of its Working Methods, Djibouti; Challenges, lessons learned on strengthening mediation efforts in resolving conflicts in Africa; Consideration of the situation in Libya; Consideration and adoption of Monthly Provisional Programme of Work for December 2024; Implementation of the DDR and PCRD Programmes for consolidation of peace, security and socio-economic activities in Africa: Challenges and Way forward; AU PCRD Awareness Week, Kinshasa, DRC; 15th Annual Joint Consultative Meeting between the PSC and EU PSC Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Briefing on the Continental Early Warning and Security Outlook (CISSA, AFRIPOL, AU CT Center); Discussion on enhancing mechanisms for curbing illegal exploitation of natural resources by armed and terrorist groups in Africa; and Discussion on experiences and lessons learned in the implementation of PSC mandate in line with the AU Constitutive Act and PSC Protocol (Ministerial Level).
