Abstract
The Peace and Security Council of the African Union (AU), at its 579th meeting held on 29 February 2016, adopted a decision on the situation in Somalia and the AU Mission in Somalia (AMISOM). The Council requested the Commission to intensify its efforts in exploring alternative solutions with other partners as a step towards bridging the funding gaps for AMISOM.
