Provisional Programme of Work of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union for the Month of August 2023.

Abstract

Among the activities lined up during the month of August 2023 include: a consultative meeting with the RECs/RMs Policy Organs; engagement with the PRC Sub-Committee on Human Rights, Democracy and Governance; and the African Governance Platform; briefing on the situation in Niger; Briefing on Continental Early Warning and Security Outlook by CISSA, ACSRT and AFRIPOL; Briefing on the development of the Common African Position on Cyber Security in Africa; Presentation of the Draft ToR of the PSC Sub Committee on Sanctions; and update on the impact of climate change on peace and security. The Committee of Experts (CoE) are also expected to hold one meeting during the month.
