Border Disputes & Mediation

Abstract

The bulk of conflicts in Africa are interstates and that doesn't necessarily involve borders because it's interstate, but you do have instances where borders have been badly demarcated, where you have new countries, which have been defined or separated, and there are bits of the border which remain undemarcated. And at that point they become flash points. Within Africa, there are number of instances where that is the case.
