Provisional Programme of Work of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union for the Month of May 2024.

The month of May 2024 will be presided by the United Republic of Tanzania. The main highlight during the month is the celebration of the 20th Anniverssary of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union. Other considerations include: Consideration of the Report on the Post-ATMIS Assessmen; Consideration and adoption of Monthly Provisional Programme of Work for June 2024; Open Session - Stocktaking of the Implementation of the Protocol establishing the AU PSC, Article by Article - Practice, Performance and Prospects; Updated briefing on the political transition in Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali, Niger and Gabon; Consideration of the Draft Common African Position on the 4th Review Conference of the UNPoA; Consideration of the Report of the Field Mission to Tigray Region, Ethiopia; and a Field mission to Tigray region in Ethiopia. There will also be an induction of the PSC Military Staff Committee in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
