Abstract

The presentations covered a broad range of themes ranging from African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA); mandates and activities of the Peace and Security Department and the Department of Political Affairs in relation to the work of the PSC; the evolution and operationalisation of the African Governance Architecture (AGA); the Rules of Procedure of the PSC; the working methods of the PSC; the working relations between the PSC and the RECs/RMs; the development of the African Standby Force (ASF); as well as the working relations between the PSC and those other AU organs whose mandate include peace, security and governance issues, the UNSC, the European Union Political and Security Committee (EUPSC) and League of Arab States (LAS) Peace and Security Council (PSC).
