African Union Police: Policy for International Policing in African Union Peace Support Operations and Special Operations

Abstract

The purpose of this Policy, which is an integral component of the AU Doctrine for PSO, is to provide a strategic, legal, operational and administrative framework for international policing in AU PSO and SO mandated or authorised by the PSC of the AU or the Assembly. Within the scope of the APSA and AGA, the Policy spells out the vision, mission, core responsibilities, core values, structures, authority, command and control, code of conduct, code of ethics and conditions of service of the AUPOL Officers and the principles for standardisation of its programmes, projects and activities.
