3rd Joint Consultative Ministerial Meeting Between the Peace and Security Council of the African Union and the Peace and Security Council of the League of Arab States, 27 September 2012, New York, USA.

The New York consultative meeting provided an opportunity for an exchange of views between the two Councils on the challenges to peace and security in the two regions, as well as on their efforts to address ongoing crises. Within this framework, discussions focused on the peace and reconciliation process in Somalia, the ongoing negotiations between Sudan and South Sudan on their post-secession relations, under the auspices of the AU High-Level Implementation Panel, as well as on the situations in Mali and in Palestine.
