Communiqué of the 1170th Meeting of the Peace and Security Council held on 22 August 2023, on the Briefing on Continental Early Warning and Security Outlook.

In this session, the Chairperson of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) for August 2023, H.E. Ambassador Willy Nyamitwe, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Burundi to the African Union gave his opening remarks followed by remarks from remarks by H.E. Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security. The Representative of (i) the Executive Secretary of the Committee of Intelligence and Security Services in Africa; (ii) the African Mechanism for Police Cooperation; and (iii) the Africa Centre for the Study and Research on Terrorism each gave a presentation.
