Abstract
The African Union Peace and Security Council’s Programme of Work for June 2025, under the chairship of the United Republic of Tanzania, features critical engagements aimed at enhancing continental peace and security. Key ambassadorial-level meetings will address arms and ammunition control, the activities of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), the situation in South Sudan, and the implementation of the Common African Defence and Security Policy. The Council will also engage with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, and deliberate on developments in Eastern DRC. Additionally, the Council will convene a meeting of the PSC Sanctions Committee to get an update of the committee's activities.
