Abstract

The 12th High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa will take place from 1–2 December 2025 in Algiers, Algeria. It aims to strengthen coordination between the AU Peace and Security Council (PSC) and the African Members of the UN Security Council (A3/A3+) by reviewing progress, sharing lessons, and preparing newly elected A3 members—DRC and Liberia—for their mandate. Sessions will address Africa’s peace and security landscape, AU-UN cooperation on counter-terrorism, A3+ achievements, and UNSC reform. The seminar will also unveil the new PSC–A3 coordination manual. It will be held at ministerial level, with PSC members, A3+, AU officials, UN partners, and invited states participating.
