Mainstreaming the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance (ACDEG) Program in-and-out of the School of Context in Africa.

The ACDEG program provides opportunities to learn for all, ensures equitable access for the disadvantaged, and is relevant to each member state development aspirations and opportunities. As recommended by the ACDEG (Article 12), State Parties should implement the ACDEG program and carry out activities designed to promote democratic principles and practices as well as consolidate a culture of democracy and peace. To this end, they should, inter alia, integrate civic education in their educational curricula and develop appropriate programmes and activities.
